Binance Reports 31st Proof of Reserves with 1.82% BTC Drop, Ethereum Up; El Salvador Holds 6,200 BTC Worth $652M

Binance has released its 31st Proof of Reserves report as of June 1, 2025, revealing user holdings of 593,000 BTC, a 1.82% decrease from May 1. Ethereum holdings increased by 1.05% to 5.337 million ETH, while Tether (USDT) holdings declined by 0.77% to 28.83 billion USDT. Binance CEO Richard Teng noted that Binance controls 58.95% of the stablecoin reserves in the exchange sector, with other exchanges holding 41.05%. Additionally, Binance moved 68,200 BTC from its exchange to Binance Wrapped Bitcoin (BTCB), contributing to a notable drop in exchange-held BTC.

Tether Lending Collateral Custody wallet deposited 200 BTC to Binance recently, with total deposits since May 9 reaching 1,650 BTC. MicroStrategy reported Proof of Reserves totaling 402,542 BTC through March 31, 2025, excluding coins held by Fidelity Custody. Meanwhile, El Salvador continues its Bitcoin accumulation strategy, adding 8 BTC in the past week to reach a total holding of 6,200.18 BTC valued at approximately $652 million. The country has also established its own full Bitcoin node, reinforcing its commitment to Bitcoin. Bitcoin insurance provider Meanwhile disclosed a treasury of 220.4 BTC valued at $220 million. These developments highlight ongoing institutional and sovereign interest in Bitcoin and stablecoins within the crypto ecosystem.
