This move comes amid a significant increase in antisemitic incidents reported since October 2023, particularly after October 7. Jewish students have faced threats and intimidation on campuses, prompting calls for university administrations to do more to protect them. Notably, CUNY’s Baruch College faced criticism for attempting to block a Rosh Hashanah celebration due to security concerns. The NJAC has brought five anti-terrorist act suits since October 7 to address these issues.
