Rached Ghannouchi, the head of Tunisia's Ennahdha Party, and his son-in-law Rafik Abdessalem Bouchlaka, have been sentenced to three years in prison by a Tunisian Anti-Corruption Chamber, a court spokesperson confirmed. The court found them guilty of accepting foreign financial donations, and in addition to the prison sentences, the Ennahdha movement was fined USD 1,170,470. This sentencing comes amid Ghannouchi's opposition to President Kais Saied and raises concerns about the political climate in Tunisia.
