Tesla, led by Elon Musk, has been found not liable in its first US jury trial over allegations that its Autopilot driver assistant feature led to a fatal crash that killed the driver and seriously injured two passengers. The state court outside Los Angeles ruled that there was no manufacturing defect in the Autopilot system and that human error caused the incident which occurred four years ago in Riverside, California. This verdict in the wrongful-death suit is a significant victory for Tesla as it faces other lawsuits and federal investigations related to its Autopilot technology.
