The death toll from intense fighting in Sudan's Darfur region has risen to at least 700 people, with reports of a paramilitary group, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), being blamed for the killing of over 800 people, mostly boys and men, in a Darfur refugee camp. The RSF reportedly attacked a displaced persons camp, going door to door searching for men and executing them all. Doctors and the U.N. have reported that fighters from the RSF and their allied Arab militias rampaged through a town in Darfur, killing more than 800 people in a multiday attack. The civil war in Sudan has claimed 9,000 lives, drawing attention to the need for help in Africa, as Islamic militants have also stepped up attacks in Niger.
