Sudan's army has rejected a call from the United States to return to peace talks with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The decision follows a conversation between U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Sudanese Army Chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Wednesday. Despite ongoing heavy fighting and a dire humanitarian crisis, the Sudanese Armed Forces have refused to engage in dialogue with the RSF. Additionally, a number of RSF militia members have surrendered to the Sudanese Armed Forces on Thursday.
