NASA is planning to observe a near-Earth asteroid's close encounter in 2029. The asteroid, approximately the width of the Empire State Building, is expected to pass within 20,000 miles of Earth. This event is predicted to occur in about 5-1/2 years. Other reports also mention five asteroids set to come 'dangerously close' to Earth, including one the size of the Golden Gate Bridge. Additionally, new videos show NASA's mission to smash into an asteroid.
