The Rabbit R1, an AI-first device currently likened to being in the 'pager era', is gaining attention as it showcases a new conversational interface that allows computers to adapt to humans. Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, has praised the Rabbit R1 during an interview on Bloomberg at 21:40, calling it the most impressive demo since the iPhone launch. The device, which allows for app development with little to no code and can switch between major AI models, is seen as a potential successor to smartphones with very low latency. Despite its early stage, the Rabbit R1, represented by @rabbit_hmi on Twitter, has achieved a notable milestone with 50,000 presales and $10 million in funding. Jesse Lyu, CEO of Rabbit, in collaboration with Teenage Engineering, emphasizes the device's unique user experience and retro-future design, aiming to create an AI agent-based user experience rather than an app-centric one.
enjoyed @stevesi summary of CES. Highlights for me are the lightweight purpose built “augmented glasses” and seeing rabbit r1 not as an AI platform, but an app-less platform, highlighting the real challenge with the product. https://t.co/1i3Lifyjws
$10M later, Rabbit R1 is AI hardware’s first success story. In an expansive interview, Rabbit CEO, Jesse Lyu, shares how he collaborates with Teenage Engineering, why he didn't want to make a phone, and how the R1's retro-future design is key to https://t.co/X1nUGKbLuR
50,000 presales later, the $200 Rabbit R1 has stolen the AI mindshare. Take a deep dive into its unconventional hardware in this interview with @rabbit_hmi's founder/CEO @jessechenglyu, who is eager to explain why it's not just an app https://t.co/vah50iOfCS
ChatGPT has got to be one of the most brilliant marketing launches in history. There are a million ways OpenAI could have shared it with the world. But they made a conscious decision to turn cutting-edge technology into a conversation that's accessible to everyone.
Our bet on @rabbit_hmi a year ago: It’s time for a new conversational interface to all computers. Computers adopt to humans and not the other way around. We don't learn to use an app. Our agent learns and we talk to our agent. The app can be on a computer, a phone or the cloud.…

People view @rabbit_hmi as "hardware". To me a new class of device will enable a new user experience & new model for how apps are used, making it "AI agent" based user centric, not app centric. A large change is coming in very low latency (not achievable for apps on an iPhone)…

Rabbit R1 and other ‘AI-first devices’ are in the pager era, far from replacing our smartphones yet #smartphone #GenAI https://t.co/Lqv16jc7fa
New "Unaligned." This is #8. My mind was blown by the demo they showed me (see it at the end of this thread). You can build apps with AI backend with little to no code, extremely quickly. The software can switch between any of the major models (ChatGPT, Claude, etc) based upon… https://t.co/ZabC4Sr3Ww
