Meta's platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger, experienced a worldwide outage, leaving users unable to access their accounts. The outage, reported by users and confirmed by DownDetector, lasted for approximately 3 hours before services were restored. This incident marks the second significant disruption to Meta's services within a two-week period, with the previous outage attributed to an 'internal' issue. Despite services being back online, Meta has not yet disclosed the cause of the latest glitch. The outage affected users globally, with thousands in the UK and the US among those reporting issues. Instagram faced another separate outage the following day, with users worldwide reporting being automatically logged out of their accounts for the second time in two days. This second incident was also noted by DownDetector and was not related to country-level internet restrictions or filtering.
