Japan's Prime Minister Kishida is taking significant steps to aid the victims of the recent earthquake. He plans to double the self-defense forces search and rescue team to 2000, open sea routes for aid delivery, improve access to quake-hit areas, and warn of anticipated inclement weather and seismic activity in the region. Kishida acknowledges that many people are still trapped under collapsed structures and around 130 people are seeking to be rescued.
