Japan's nationwide Consumer Price Index (CPI) for May showed an overall increase of 2.8% as of June 20, slightly below the forecast of 2.9% but up from the previous 2.5%. Additionally, the CPI excluding fresh food and energy increased by 2.1%, compared to 2.4% previously and an estimate of 2.2%.
