Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced several measures on Friday to address rising inflation and support low-income households. These measures include extending fuel subsidies until the end of the year and rolling out electricity and gas bill relief measures between August and October. Additionally, Kishida will consider providing extra funding to low-income and elderly households to counter rising food prices. The energy measures are expected to lower consumer inflation by an average of 0.5% per month until year-end. Kishida also announced extra utility assistance to help households cope with inflation.
