Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has stated that Hungary will not veto an increase in the European Peace Fund, which is used to provide military aid to Ukraine, but will not participate in its work. Hungary's ruling party Fidesz has requested that Swedish PM Kristersson visit before ratifying Sweden's NATO bid. However, the Swedish PM wants to visit Budapest only after Hungary has ratified Sweden’s NATO accession. In June 2023, Kristersson quoted Viktor Orban as saying that Hungary would not delay Sweden's ratification process. Despite this, there are concerns about Hungary's commitment, as Viktor Orban's party is accused of boycotting the Hungarian parliament to prevent approval of Sweden's NATO membership.
Why doesn't Hungary's Viktor Orban just ask for another bribe? His party boycotts the Hungarian parliament so it can't approve Sweden's joining NATO. https://t.co/kYIeSq7J71
