The Novoshakhtinsk refinery in southern Russia, near the border with Ukraine, was attacked by drones, sparking a fire at the plant. This marks the fourth such strike by Ukraine, highlighting Russia's ongoing inability to defend its oil infrastructure. The refinery, which processed over 4.8 million tons of crude last year, or around 97,000 barrels a day, had previously been targeted by a drone strike earlier this year. The fire was extinguished at 4 a.m. local time, according to Rostov region Governor Vasily Golubev, who blamed repeated drone attacks for the incident. Following the attack, the refinery suspended operations due to violations of the technological process.
