Ford Motor Co reported a significant increase in its U.S. auto sales for May, rising 11% year-on-year. The growth was driven by strong demand for SUVs, pickup trucks, and hybrid vehicles. Ford's electric vehicle (EV) sales surged by 64.7%, with 9,000 EVs sold, including over 3,000 units of the F-150 Lightning and 4,000 units of the Mach-E. Hybrid vehicle sales also saw a substantial increase of 64.5%, with a total of 17,600 units sold. Internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle sales increased by 5.6%. Overall, Ford sold 190,000 vehicles in May, marking an 11.2% increase compared to the previous year. On a rolling 12-month basis, Ford reached a new post-pandemic high of 2,043,000 vehicles.
