China's Commerce Minister Wang Wentao announced that the country will enhance policy support for foreign trade and implement measures to stabilize exports amid escalating tensions with the United States over new tariffs. In response to U.S. plans to impose port fees on ships linked to China, the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized these actions, stating they violate global supply chains and would not revitalize the U.S. shipbuilding industry. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that such measures would increase inflationary pressures in the U.S. and undermine American companies' interests. She also highlighted that China's domestic demand has been strategically enhanced, countering claims that the country is overly reliant on exports. The U.S. is planning to charge docking fees of up to $1.5 million for Chinese-built ships at its ports, a move that could further strain trade relations. China's share of the global shipbuilding market has risen dramatically to over 50%, raising concerns about economic and national security risks for the U.S.
