Boeing is facing a challenge in maintaining its production rate as deliveries of its 737 MAX jets to customers have dropped to the lowest level in over two years. In September, Boeing delivered only 15 new 737 jets, the smallest number since May 2021. The company currently has a backlog of 5,172 commercial airplanes. This decline in deliveries marks the third consecutive month of shipment decline for Boeing. The decrease in deliveries is attributed to the ongoing work required to address a manufacturing defect. Ryanair, a major customer of Boeing, has expressed concerns about delivery delays of the 737 Max aircraft, which are expected to impact capacity next summer.
