Prominent figures like Bill Ackman and an unnamed individual are making statements regarding potential negative stories by media outlets. The individual threatens to sue if false stories are published, while Ackman expresses his displeasure with media coverage. The situation involves the Washington Post and New York Times in relation to these statements.
Ain’t no screed like a Bill Ackman screed because a Bill Ackman screed don’t stop.

This morning the @nytimes wrote a profile of me. The story can be found here: https://t.co/Musl3gZens I initially chose not to cooperate with the profile as to hopefully discourage the reporter from writing it, as the Washington Post and New York magazine had recently already…
If the New York Times publishes a story that I’m heading to Harvard, I will sue. It is not true and it never has been true.
If the Washington Post publishes a false story about me, I will sue them.
Not saying this will happen — but it’s gonna be embarrassing if the WaPo piece is negative and she doesn’t sue. https://t.co/wbhO3oqLfl
I don’t even think the story will be necessarily damming. It’s a profile by a great reporter. But her speech works on two levels. If it contains damaging info, she’ll call it fiction. If it doesn’t, she’ll say “they tried to destroy me, and this was all they could get?” https://t.co/v8fvYnzh4s
