The accusations, initially filed by Javier Corral, a senator from Morena and former governor of Chihuahua, claimed that Duarte acquired approximately 50 properties in the United States valued at around $25 million, allegedly diverted from state resources. The dismissal was due to a lack of evidence and insufficient cooperation from the Chihuahua government. Following the court's decision, Duarte was publicly seen celebrating his exoneration by dancing at a nightclub in Chihuahua's capital. He also criticized his previous detention, alleging it was politically motivated during a meeting between Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and then U.S. President Donald Trump.
