Steve Bannon was granted a stay pending appeal on an executive privilege claim despite not having served in the Trump Administration since 2017. In contrast, Peter Navarro, who served until the end of the Trump Administration, has been involved in a controversy for attempting to overturn the 2020 election while claiming to act in his official capacity as Trade Advisor. Navarro has made statements emphasizing his mission to defend the constitutional separation of powers and executive privilege, expressing his fear for the country's future and his determination to gather strength from the situation.

Pretty tough for the Trade Advisor to the president, who negotiates commerce agreements w/other countries, to argue that he was acting in his official capacity on govt business while trying to overturn the 2020 election. But that didn’t stop Trump/Navarro from claiming privilege.
It’s nuts that Steve Bannon was granted a stay pending appeal of an executive privilege claim when he hadn’t severed in the Trump Admin since he was fired in 2017. Navarro, who served to the bitter end, at least has a better argument than Bannon, who has no case.
