Mexico Tops World Archery Cup with Alejandra Valencia Silver, Wins 10 Para-Swimming Medals, La Quebrada Sets Guinness Record

Mexico began 2025 with strong performances in international sports competitions. In the first stage of the World Archery Cup, the Mexican national team led the medal table with a total of six medals, surpassing China and the United States. Among the medalists, Alejandra Valencia secured a silver medal in archery. Additionally, the Mexican delegation excelled in the 2025 Para-Swimming World Series held in Shizuoka, Japan, returning with a total of 10 medals: one gold, five silver, and four bronze. In a separate achievement, the iconic 35-meter-high cliff of La Quebrada in Acapulco received a Guinness World Record certificate for recording five million head-first cliff dives, a tradition and tourist attraction since 1934. The milestone was celebrated with a commemorative dive attended by hundreds of tourists, residents, and government officials from various levels.
