Jennifer Gledhill Charged with Murder of Utah National Guardsman Matthew Johnson; Parents Investigated for Cover-Up

Jennifer Gledhill, a woman from Cottonwood Heights, Utah, has been charged with the murder of her estranged husband, Matthew Johnson, a member of the Utah National Guardsman and a Special Operations Unit. Newly unsealed search warrants indicate that Gledhill allegedly shot Johnson in his sleep and attempted to cover up the crime by cleaning the master bedroom, including purchasing a new mattress, and disposing of his body, which remains unfound. Gledhill had filed for divorce from Johnson in July 2024, and a trial is scheduled for December. The warrants also reveal that Gledhill's parents, Thomas and Rosalie Gledhill, are under investigation for allegedly assisting their daughter in covering up the killing. They were arrested in October for investigation of obstruction of justice after Gledhill reportedly confessed her crime to a man she was seeing, who then went to the police. Johnson was reported missing on Sept. 28, and as of yet, no charges have been filed against Thomas and Rosalie Gledhill. In a separate case, Michelle Zajko, a former Delaware County woman linked to the Zizian group, has denied killing her parents, Rita and Richard Zajko, in a 20-page statement. The couple was found shot execution-style in their Chester Heights home on New Year's Eve 2022. Zajko, who has been portrayed as part of the Zizians, a cultlike group and an offshoot of the Rationalist movement, insists that she and her associates are not violent and accuses the media of spreading misinformation. Zajko was arrested in Maryland on trespassing and gun charges alongside Jack LaSota, whom she describes as a friend, not a leader, and claims they were in Maryland under self-imposed witness protection.
