InfoWars Reporter Jamie White Fatally Shot at Chandelier Apartments in Austin During Kia Vehicle Burglary Attempt

Jamie White, a 36-year-old reporter for InfoWars, was fatally shot outside the Chandelier Apartments in southeast Austin, Texas, at around 11:56 p.m. on Sunday night. The Austin Police Department reported that White was found lying in the parking lot with apparent trauma to his body and was pronounced dead at 12:19 a.m. early Monday morning at a local hospital. According to police, White was killed after he interrupted suspects who were attempting to burglarize his Kia vehicle. The suspects fled the scene after the shooting, and their vehicle, which had been reported stolen a few days prior, was later recovered in South Austin. The police investigation suggests that the suspects may have been targeting Kia vehicles due to a known defect that makes them easier to steal. White's apartment complex had reported 57 crimes in 2024, including vehicle thefts and burglaries. Alex Jones, the founder of InfoWars, stated that White's death was due in part to the policies of Austin's district attorney, Jose Garza, whom he accused of contributing to rising crime rates in the city. Jones called for justice and pledged that White's work would continue through InfoWars. Friends Yecca Aaron and Kayla Boomer described White as a dedicated journalist who had received death threats for his writings and had moved to Austin to work at InfoWars after attending Ohio University.
