David Fincher, the director of 'World War Z,' has expressed his relief that the long-awaited sequel to the film was ultimately canceled. Fincher compared his idea for the sequel to HBO's 'The Last of Us' and stated that he is glad they didn't proceed with it. He believes that 'The Last of Us' offers more opportunities to explore similar themes. Disputes over the budget were one of the reasons the sequel didn't materialize.
