Costco's high grocery prices have sparked debate, with some customers finding better deals at Kroger. Despite the criticism, the company beat EPS estimates but missed on revenue. The retailer, often humorously referred to as a 'rotisserie chicken shop', has managed to top sales and profit estimates on the back of strong demand for cheaper groceries. Amidst the pricing controversy, Costco's iconic hotdog remains priced at $1.50.

Had a trip to the local Kroger. With the discounts everywhere prices are better than $COST. CocaCola, Oreos, peanut butter were ~half the price. Costco is basically a rotisserie chicken shop.

Lot of cackling at this but I paid $50 today for a loaf of cheap French bread, a container of lettuce, and the ingredients to make chicken soup from scratch. This was at a Giant, not some twee organic market, and it was not an elaborate recipe requiring a dozen special items. https://t.co/51tFdOB1wW
