Twitch has announced the discontinuation of its Prime Video Watch Party feature, effective April 2, 2024, citing "Usage of Watch Parties on Twitch has declined over the years." The decision comes as a result of declining usage. Watch parties allowed Twitch streamers and their viewers to watch Amazon Prime content together, but limitations such as the requirement for all participants to have an Amazon Prime subscription and restrictions to only Prime content were seen as restrictive.

Watch parties were never going to last because they're so restricting. You have to buy the same subscription as the streamer (Amazon Prime) and then the streamer is limited to only watching Prime content (you can't watch Netflix, Max, etc together). https://t.co/twcHKH7O3o
