Succinct Labs has announced the launch of Succinct Processor 1 (SP1), marking a significant advancement in zero-knowledge virtual machines (zkVMs). SP1, which is entirely open-source and licensed under MIT/APACHE-2, is designed to prove arbitrary Rust programs, aiming for an order of magnitude performance improvement over existing zkVMs. It has already shown up to 28 times faster performance for certain programs. The SP1 is highlighted for its user-friendly approach, allowing developers to write in Rust instead of circuits, and boasts performance improvements ranging from 5 to 28 times compared to the state of the art, making it contributor-friendly. The development team at Succinct Labs has worked over the past year to reach this milestone, making zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs) accessible to any developer.
Welcome @SuccinctLabs 👋 and congrats on SP1, an impressive accomplishment and a great signal for the future of general purpose zkVMs. We’re focused on providing the cheapest, most scalable, and most effective platform for building and deploying ZK. Since benchmarks against… https://t.co/VlsfCsf5fL
Can't be more proud of the @SuccinctLabs team for all the hard work over the past year that has led to this moment. With SP1, *any* developer can now use ZKPs. Write code not circuits. I used to think that it was not possible for a general-purpose zkVM to match the performance… https://t.co/47p8goB2jw
Super excited to share SP1 with the rest of the world! - Write rust, not circuits!! - Blazingly fast proving, with 5-28x performance improvements compared to SOTA - 100% open-source, contributor-friendly, MIT/APACHE-2 You can literally get started in a few seconds with: `curl… https://t.co/uAsjFPolyj
1/ We are excited to announce Succinct Processor 1 (SP1), our first generation, 100% open-source zkVM that proves arbitrary Rust programs. SP1 targets an order of magnitude performance improvement vs. existing zkVMs, and is already up to 28x faster for certain programs. https://t.co/MhOX7UPPUt
