The Layer 2 (L2) scaling solutions ecosystem in the crypto space is evolving rapidly. L2s are gaining 'native wallets' and attracting new users. Ethereum's L2s, such as Arbitrum and Blast_L2, are witnessing significant activity, with more than 50% of new wallets on Arbitrum. However, there are concerns about the potential fate of some L2s, with comparisons drawn to failed layer 1 experiments. Despite this, L2s are seen as essential in alleviating chain bloat and enabling new functionalities, addressing the growing traffic that the L1 protocol struggles to manage.
Layer 2s are great, they remove chain bloat and allow people to do all kinds of other shit that's either too expensive on, or not supported by, the base protocol. I have no idea why anyone complains about them. There's so much traffic out there. The L1 can't handle it all. https://t.co/otIrBnWzu1

The layer-2 (L2) scaling solutions ecosystem is booming. Can crypto achieve scalability without sacrificing decentralization? https://t.co/ydkqrajD1k
A lot of "layer 2's" on Ethereum will end up like the long list of layer 1's - failed experiments that gained little to no traction. Just because something is an L2 does not guarantee any sort of success and a lot of the L2's launching lately are just jumping on a bandwagon.
As Ethereum's Layer Two scaling thesis plays out, the landscape for dApp developers will change dramatically. Time to share some thoughts on the future of L2s, and how to strategically position to benefit developers as much as possible: L2s generally fall into one of three…
Here is my Ethereum L2 bag: • 10.02 $ETH bridged to @Blast_L2 & @base And I can’t wait to stack my Bitcoin L2 bag. Thousands of Bitcoin L2s are arriving, thanks to @BVMnetwork. https://t.co/rjyW61ykKD
Most people in crypto think of layer 2s as just drawing users from Ethereum but this is increasingly not the case. L2s are gaining "native wallets" in a way that is similar to L1s and owning their own distribution. More than 50% of the new wallets on Arbitrum conducted their… https://t.co/1wd9zmdB4B https://t.co/kQfhmGozzG
