Circle, the issuer of the USD Coin (USDC) stablecoin, has seen significant developments in its operations and technology. According to a new report, Circle had over $197 billion in banks and blockchain transfers in 2023. The total circulating supply of USDC decreased from $45 billion to $25 billion, despite the number of USDC wallets growing by 59% to 2.7 million, each holding a balance of $10 or more. Additionally, Circle has completed an upgrade to USDC version 2.2 and integrated the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) with Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), enhancing the security and ease of cross-chain USDC transfers.
