The focus in the blockchain space is shifting towards the execution of Layer 2 solutions (L2s) to reduce congestion and fees for users. Projects like MegaETH and Eclipse are aiming for over 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) with sub-100ms latency. Solana, Monad, Aptos, and Sui are showcasing high TPS with low fees and improved user experience, claiming to be more decentralized than current L2 solutions. The new approach targets enhancing flexibility for L2 blockchains that integrate with Ethereum, allowing for faster iterations and competitive positioning against other chains.
A lot of work is necessary to ensure Solana continues to be the best chain. It will be easy to dismiss the transaction failures, slowness, and higher fees that we are all experiencing as being still better than our incumbents, and therefore acceptable. It will be easy to…
One of the biggest benefits to a modular L1-L2 Ethereum approach is L2s can iterate very fast. It takes a lot of time, caution and effort to update a mature L1 chain like Ethereum. This gives any L2 the freedom to essentially iterate as fast as they'd like.

Now that L2s are as cheap, if not cheaper, than alt L1’s, we have no excuse for not dominating every onchain category. “When scaling lowers fees we will win” was a crutch last cycle, if we can’t win now with low fees, we need to really do some soul searching.
solana is holding up well in comparison with L2s even after blobs. but job’s not done. the goal is to build a web-scale blockchain. this cycle, Solana will have to defend against comparisons with Eth L3s and new alt-L1s with cheaper tokens. race is on. let’s do it. https://t.co/EqDqyNFMAq
It’s too early to draw conclusions. We need to wait until more L2s adopt blobs and see how the demand and fee market behave. Alt-L1s are not dead. Ethereum has not « won » yet. But let celebrate this time together. Feel gud to see such cheap fees on Ethereum L2s. Starknet right… https://t.co/wWWwPQ4Uk1 https://t.co/QA0O8AcBd5
Solana, Monad, Aptos, Sui have all shown the capability of breaking thousands of TPS while remaining at low fees and with much better UX and the best part is they are more decentralized than any L2 today anyone who tells you the "alt L1" thesis is dead is coping at best and a…

Now that DA stops being a bottleneck for L2s, the focus will shift towards the execution of L2s in order to limit congestion and fee spikes for users. Enter the new era of 10k+ TPS and sub 100ms latency L2s. MegaETH @megaeth_labs for EVM and Eclipse @EclipseFND for SVM. https://t.co/HGpK5LmL9x
