Polk County Sheriff Confirms Double Homicide After Mercedes Driver Shot, Car Crashes Into Lakeland House, Electric Bicyclist Killed

A fatal incident occurred in Lakeland, Polk County, involving a car crash that resulted in two deaths. According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, the driver of a Mercedes was fatally shot before the vehicle slammed into a house. The crash also killed an electric bicyclist who was passing by at the time. Authorities have classified the case as a double homicide, and at least one suspect remains at large. Earlier reports also noted two children were killed in a separate crash on State Road 78 in Glades County.
