Tennessee Star Editor Michael Patrick Leahy is facing legal challenges after publishing excerpts from the journal of Audrey Hale, the Nashville Covenant School shooter. Leahy appeared in court to defend his First Amendment rights, following threats of criminal contempt from a Nashville judge. The show cause hearing, which involved a dozen lawyers, centered on whether Leahy's publication of the manifesto violated court orders. Despite the judge's threats, Leahy was not held in contempt. Judge Myles presided over the hearing. Leahy remains committed to fighting for free speech and has discussed the case on various media platforms, including Stephen K. Bannon’s WarRoom and The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.
