The Supreme Court has reserved its order on a plea by the Kerala government, based in Thiruvananthapuram, seeking interim relief in a suit filed against the Centre over financial issues. This follows the Kerala government's approach to the Supreme Court to release four bills passed by the Kerala Legislative Assembly, which are pending with the Office of the President. The Kerala Governor, Arif Mohammed Khan, had sent these bills to the President without signing them. The state has also approached the Supreme Court against the Governor reserving seven bills for the President's assent and against the President withholding assent to bills. Kerala Minister P Rajeev stated that the government filed a case against the Governor, Arif Mohammed Khan, for not giving his assent to the bills passed by the Legislative Assembly.
