Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has issued a warning about cryptocurrency exchange BitForex for suspected fraud after the platform went offline in February. This warning comes in the wake of BitForex going dark on February 23, following the reported withdrawal of $57 million from its hot wallets. In addition to this, the SFC has also warned the public against fake websites impersonating licensed #CRYPTO exchanges. Amid these regulatory actions, Hong Kong is planning to kickstart new #Web3 and digital #Yuan initiatives within the year. Furthermore, the SFC reiterated that unlicensed cryptocurrency platforms would be expelled by June #HK.
