Congressman Matt Gaetz criticized Former Special Counsel Robert Hur for not prosecuting Joe Biden, citing a controversial 'senile cooperator theory.' Gaetz questioned Hur's standards for charging individuals with obstruction of justice, asking, "What does somebody have to do to get charged with obstruction of justice by you? If deleting the evidence of crimes doesn’t count, what would meet the standard?" Specifically, Gaetz referenced the non-prosecution of Biden and his ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer, despite findings in Hur's report that suggested elements of a federal criminal violation were met. Hur, however, pushed back against some of Gaetz's comments without providing specific details on the criteria for prosecution.
