Federal Authorities Charge 17 Antifa Militants Over Violent Attacks and July 4 Arson at Portland ICE Facility

In Portland, Oregon, a sustained series of violent protests by Antifa militants targeting the local Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility has resulted in numerous federal arrests and charges. Since mid-June 2025, Antifa groups have repeatedly attempted to besiege, attack, and set fire to the ICE building, often mobilizing with weapons and riot gear supplied from a nearby encampment. Federal officers have responded with targeted arrests, crowd control munitions including tear gas and pepper balls, and investigations into suspected weapon caches. Among those charged are at least 17 individuals, including Aziel Anav Chambers, who faces charges such as assault on a federal officer and creating hazards on federal property.

Despite police clearing illegal camps near the facility, Antifa militants have established new bases of operation nearby.
