Multiple arrests and charges related to the possession, creation, and distribution of child sexual abuse material have been reported across the United States and internationally in recent days.
In Texas, Brian Vincent Rausch, an FBI analyst based in Houston, was arrested and charged with seven felony counts, including five state and two federal charges, after investigators discovered multiple videos of child sexual assault in his possession during a raid at his Cypress home. Rausch was booked into the Harris County Jail.
In Florida, William Andrew Jones, a 32-year-old assistant state attorney for Hillsborough County, was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of child pornography, three counts of transmission of child pornography, and two counts of transmission of material harmful to a minor. Jones admitted to viewing and transmitting files involving juvenile females between the ages of 6 and 10 years old. He was terminated from his position following his arrest.
Other arrests include a New Jersey high school teacher, Axel Palomares, who faces multiple charges including manufacturing and possession of child sexual abuse material and is being held pending a detention hearing, and an Elgin, Illinois man, Simone Agresti, who was charged with eight counts of dissemination and six counts of possession of child pornography. Agresti was released under pretrial supervision after a court hearing.
Additional cases involve Daniel Beatty, a former school teaching assistant in Wales with a prior sexual harm prevention order, who was sentenced to 12 months in custody for possession of category A child abuse images, and a 22-year-old former WAC employee in Austria, who is in pre-trial detention for alleged abuse-related offenses involving at least 20 victims.
