A group of Capitol Police officers who were injured during the violence on January 6, 2021, will travel to battleground states to campaign for President Biden’s reelection, his campaign announced. Veteran officers who defended the Capitol during the attack will stump for Biden in key states such as Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, and New Hampshire. The campaign effort comes ahead of the June 27 presidential debate between President Biden and former President Trump. Former U.S. Capitol police officers Harry Dunn and Sgt. Aquilino Gonell are among those enlisted to support the campaign. They will campaign in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
