Furthermore, the Rameswaram Fishermen Association disclosed that 21 fishermen were apprehended and two boats were seized by the Sri Lankan Navy. Prime Minister Modi has publicly stated that intensive efforts were undertaken to rescue the fishermen who faced capital punishment in Sri Lanka.
