A building fire in Arvada on June 4 caused smoke to spread over I-70. Additionally, the Green Mountain prescribed burn in southern Jefferson County, Colorado, is generating significant smoke. The prescribed fire, known as #GreenMountainRX, has been ongoing with ignitions continuing throughout the day. The smoke from this controlled burn is visible from various parts of the Denver metro area and along Highway 126. Authorities have confirmed that all fire lines are holding and operations are proceeding normally. Photos from the Top of the World area show the extent of the smoke.
