A strong winter storm is affecting southern Alaska, with hazardous conditions. The storm is producing a wintry mix in the Northeast, with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect. Significant snowfall has been reported in Alaska, with 65" of snow along the Richardson Highway and nearly 2 ft. in the Anchorage area. Anchorage has experienced consecutive days of heavy snow, resulting in a snow depth of 21" and a season-to-date snowfall exceeding the total for 2014-15.
