Several areas in the western United States are experiencing or expecting snow and cold temperatures. In the mountains of Riverside and San Diego County, there will be local snow amounts of 2-4 inches above 5000 feet. Snow is also expected in the Cascade passes in Washington, and in northern, central, and eastern Arizona, with snow accumulations as low as 3500-4000 feet. Arizona and southeast California are facing cold temperatures, with highs mostly in the mid to upper 50s. Additionally, light showers and snow are anticipated in various areas, such as the south side of the metro area in Colorado and the southern and interior portions of the Central Coast in California. Frost advisories are in effect for these regions as well as the Eastern Santa Clara Hills. Snow levels have dropped to 3500 ft in Phoenix, with light snow expected in the Globe-Miami communities. The snow and cold weather are expected to persist into the weekend in the 4 corners region.
