A low-pressure system moving along the Gulf Coast and out over the Atlantic Ocean is expected to bring rain to southern counties in the evening through Thursday morning. The increase in moisture and energy in Florida is creating conditions for severe weather, including the possibility of isolated tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a slight risk for severe storms in central and northern Florida, with damaging gusts and a few tornadoes possible. The SPC has also highlighted the tornado potential for Thursday morning in Florida and the central Plains. Residents are advised to stay weather aware and have a way to receive warnings. Significant rotation has been observed in storms in Florida, particularly in areas along the west coast. A tornado watch has been issued for northern and central Florida, and waterspouts have been reported offshore.
