A series of earthquakes have recently struck the Pacific region. On May 22, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake occurred 46 km from Kimbe, West New Britain, Papua New Guinea. This was followed by two 5.1 magnitude earthquakes on May 24, both 150 km from Kavieng, New Ireland, Papua New Guinea. Most recently, on May 25, a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Vanuatu Islands at a depth of 25 km. Additionally, reports indicate a 6.5 magnitude earthquake near Vanuatu.
