Seattle, Boise, and International Falls have experienced record-breaking high temperatures in January. Seattle had its third consecutive day with a high temperature of 60+ degrees, a record not seen since 1981. Boise broke the daily and all-time January temperature records with a high of 66°F, surpassing the previous record of 63°F set in 1953. International Falls, MN, known as America's 'ice box,' recorded its earliest 50°F temperature on record, breaking the January monthly record. The warm weather has been attributed to climate change, with dozens of records tumbling from the Pacific Northwest through the Midwest.
