Several rivers in the Northeastern United States have reached or are forecasted to reach record flood levels due to recent heavy rainfall. The Lamoille River in Cambridge, Vermont, hit major flood stage, marking the fourth highest water level on record in Johnson. The Merrimack River is cresting, reaching its highest water level since the spring floods of 2010. Additionally, the Kennebec River in Augusta and the Androscoggin River in Auburn are forecasted to achieve their third and fourth highest water levels, respectively. The Connecticut River in Hartford has surpassed its peak level in the summer, and the Connecticut River in Higganum, CT, has reached its highest December crest in 96 years, surpassing the level seen during Hurricane Irene in 2011.
