An area of low pressure is expected to bring heavy rain and potential tropical development as it moves across Florida and into the Atlantic Ocean. The West will experience heavy rainfall, including some snow, while the Gulf Coast and New England will also see heavy rain. High pressure will provide fair weather to much of the contiguous U.S. Tuesday into Thursday, but low pressure moving along the Gulf Coast and across Florida will bring heavy rain and a marginal risk of flash flooding. Despite the low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico, most of the rain is expected to stay south and east of the region, with just a few sprinkles likely. The National Hurricane Center is highlighting a new area of interest east of Florida, with heavy rainfall and gusty winds possible in Florida and the Florida Keys. Low pressure moving from the northeast Gulf of Mexico across Florida will bring heavy rain Wednesday into Thursday, especially for southeast Florida, which could lead to areas of flooding. A Pacific storm stalled off California and another storm in the Northwest U.S. will bring rain to those areas.
