Hurricane Tammy, which had sustained winds of 105 mph, is now a post-tropical cyclone located in the Atlantic, about 515 miles south/southeast of Bermuda. It is forecasted to be east of Bermuda over the weekend. Tammy has transitioned into an extratropical cyclone and is no longer considered a tropical cyclone, but it is still producing hurricane-force winds. There is a possibility that Tammy could regain tropical or subtropical characteristics while it meanders over the northwestern Atlantic. A new area of interest in the Caribbean has a 20% chance of development in the next 7 days. The National Hurricane Center is also monitoring potential tropical cyclone development in the Western Caribbean.

I wonder if #Tammy is already back to a tropical feature. Looks pretty detached from the front to me and has convection near the core, maybe even an eye feature? https://t.co/YMxja4Leo7

Large-scale conditions still look favorable for the Caribbean at the start of November. Seems likely we will at least see low pressure form down there. Models vary widely with whether anything organized will form, though. GFS/GEFS bullish, not surprisingly. EPS/Euro more tepid. https://t.co/CsHrU1Fwpi

Look at Tammy out there with her big girl hurricane costume on! Winds up to 105 mph now and about 1250 miles from the Grand Strand. Tammy will take a whack at Bermuda then unravel and fall apart early next week. #SCwx @WMBFnews https://t.co/5E4UgBLPzB
#Tammy is looking pretty healthy this afternoon. A SAR overpass from earlier this morning showed winds as high as 127 kt. That's probably a little high, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is assessed as the season's 4th major hurricane in postseason analysis. https://t.co/lGqfIIHi9G

Thanks to a trough interaction, #Tammy has strengthened since it struggled north of the Lesser Antilles. The eye has cleared out quite nicely, though convection isn't so cold. Solid Category 2 hurricane https://t.co/Gv4vxWcyt3
