Heavy precipitation is expected overnight and into Thursday morning across eastern Long Island and southeastern Connecticut, with additional rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches. The Weather Prediction Center has placed the area under a marginal risk for excessive rainfall. Widespread rain is also expected across much of Southern New England, with the heaviest rain occurring late tonight into Thursday morning across Connecticut and Rhode Island. The NYC Tri-State area will also see showers throughout the day. Localized flooding is possible in southeastern Connecticut.
