The East Coast experienced a winter storm supercharged by El Nino and climate change. The storm, which hit from Florida to Maine, included an atmospheric river rated as Category 5. Historic snow storms in 1989, including the famous White Christmas, were remembered in South Carolina, Georgia, and the Deep South. The storm brought significant snowfall and record-breaking cold temperatures, creating the only White Christmas on record in Savannah.

(A White Christmas is defined as at least 1" of snow on the ground on Christmas Day). Who else remembers it?? Have any pics? #chswx https://t.co/Qns2Fct3wZ
34 years ago it started snowing on December 22 in #Savannah. The snow did not stop until Christmas Eve. Still the biggest snow event in recorded weather history and also the only White Christmas on record in Savannah. https://t.co/KL04nG02FU
